PURPOSE
This article describes how to install the Synergize QuickLinks client application on a PC or a Terminal Server.
STEPS (Regular Windows Client PC)
1. Obtain the name of the Synergize server name and the Deployment URL.
2. Ensure the PC has a recent version of Java installed. If not, it can be download through link https://java.com/en/download/.
3. Copy the install file (SynergizeQuickLink.msi) to the PC and place it in the C drive (for Example C:\temp\)
4. Launch the command prompt as admin then run the following command as shown below and press enter.
C:\temp\Synergize.QuickLinkSetup.msi /qb DeploymentURL="http://<SERVER_NAME>/SynergizeWebAdmin/DeploymentMgmt.asmx"
5. Ensure the user has read/write permissions to the C:\SynergzieQL as that is the default install directory unless changed and read/write access to C:\Program Files (x86)\Truckmate (if exists) for the integration to work without any permissions issue.
6. Close and relaunch TMW application before testing the functionality.
STEPS (Windows Terminal Server)
1. Obtain the name of the Synergize server name and the Deployment URL.
2. Put server in Install Mode by launching the command prompt as admin and type change user /install. This step may not be required on one of the recent windows server editions but recommended to practice when installing an application.
3. Ensure the server has recent version of Java installed if not download via link https://java.com/en/download/.
4. Copy the SynergizeQuickLink.msi to the server and place it in the C drive (C:\temp).
5. Launch the command prompt as admin and type the following command and press enter.
C:\temp\Synergize.QuickLinkSetup.msi /qb DeploymentURL="http://<SERVER_NAME>/SynergizeWebAdmin/DeploymentMgmt.asmx"
6. Ensure the users have read/write permissions to the C:\SynergzieQL and read/write access to C:\Program Files (x86)\Truckmate (if exists) for the integration piece to work without any permissions issue.
7. Return server to Execute mode after completing the installation/upgrades by launching the command prompt as administrator and typing change user /execute. This step may not be required on one of the recent windows server editions but recommended to practice when installing an application.
Note: A system reboot might be required in some cases.
