How To: Suppress Java Prompts for Synergize

PURPOSE

This article describes how to prevent Java update prompts from occurring when accessing Synergize Web Explorer or Synergize Quicklinks

STEPS

 1. Launch the Registry Editor either by using the command prompt or navigating to the executable in the Windows folder.

    

 

Note:  32 bit systems keys to be altered are in a different location.

2. Navigate the Registry Editor to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \JavaSoft \Java Update\Policy 

3. Set the EnableJavaUpdate and NotifyDownload values to 0 

 Note: 64 bit systems keys to be altered are in a different location.

2. Navigate the Registry Editor  to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE  \SOFTWARE \Wow6432Node\JavaSoft\Java Update\Policy

3. Set the EnableJavaUpdate and NotifyDownload values to 0 

 Note: If you experience a Java security prompt then an exception will need to be added for the Synergize server 

1. Launch the Control Panel and select the Java (32 bit) icon

2. Navigate to the Security tab and select Edit Site List... 

3. Hit the Add button and type the name of your Synergize server then hit the OK button

    Note: If you receive an additional prompt then hit the Continue button
